Tax News: Statistics of Income (SOI) Bulletin, Winter 2008

Statistics of Income (SOI) Bulletin, Winter 2008 - Five articles from the winter 2008 issue of the Statistics of Income Bulletin (IRS Publication 1136) are now available. The articles present individual income tax data for Tax Year 2005; split-interest trust data for Filing Year 2006; and unrelated business income tax data for tax-exempt organizations from Tax Year 2004. Also included in this issue of the Bulletin are two historic articles. The first historic article explores the legislative history of tax exemption and presents historical data (1985 to 2004) that highlight recent financial trends among tax-exempt organizations. The second historic article describes patterns in individual income and taxes since the modern income tax was introduced in 1913. (February 2008)
